Jim Gonzales - Houston-Based Civil Engineering Company Executive

An accomplished business executive, Jim Gonzales has extensive experience in construction engineering and project management. He served as the president and CEO of IDCUS Inc. in Houston from 2003 to 2020. In that period, Jim Gonzales oversaw a team of engineers, construction managers, designers, and inspectors as they provided planning, preliminary engineering, final design, and construction management services for public and private projects in Houston and throughout Texas.

Mr. Gonzales has led teams in planning, designing, and constructing public infrastructure projects like highways, major thoroughfares, freeways, toll roads, and utility systems. Some of the public clients he has worked with include the cities of Houston, El Campo, Missouri City, Pearland, Kingsville, Rosenberg, San Antonio, Wharton, Alice, Brownsville, Weslaco, Edinburg, Laredo, Sugarland, Alvin, among others. As well, he has worked with the counties of Harris, Fort Bend, Matagorda, Bexar, Brazoria, Cameron, Hildago, Webb, and Wharton. Other clients include HISD, HCC, LCISD, San Jacinto CC, Brazosport College, the University of Texas and Texas Department of Transportation (TXDOT).

Mr. Gonzales has also been actively involved in public service. He served as commissioner for the City of Richmond, the county seat of Fort Bend County for more than 17 years. He co-chaired the Fort Bend Technical Education Committee and sat on the Greater Fort Bend EDC Board, Brazoria County EDA Board, Richmond Local Government Corporation Board, West Fort Bend Water Authority Board, and Fort Bend County Housing Finance Corporation Board.

Jim Gonzales has also served as a board member of several nonprofits, including the Greater Houston Partnership, TW Davis Family YMCA, the RBJ Foundation, the WCJC Foundation, the LEAF Foundation, and Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
